> Younger Brother NEW Album (twisted rec.)
YOUNGER BROTHER were formed in the early naughties after Simon Posford and Benji Vaughan were asked to submit a track together for a charity called 'Survival'. They were asked by the charity to compose a track inspired by a video about a tribe called 'the Kogi'. The kogi are a magical civilization still in existense in columbia, they have a great awareness of the world and its enviroment and describe themselves as the elder brother, we(evertone else but the kogi) on the other hand they see as ignorant and wreckless and call therefore the younger brother(more info http://www.crystalinks.com/kogi.html). The duo were greatly inspired by the kogi and thier message and took on the name younger brother and wrote their first track called"Evil and Harm" a track that from the off set many of the parameters that define younger brother. The duo's working relationship seemed to be working and they kept on writting, coming up with "even dwarves start small" and "the finger" , two classic dance floor monsters that still four years later can be heard blasting out across dance floors the world over. From here they started work on "flock of bleeps" their debut album which was released in 2004. It's a twisting, growling electronic monster of an album that covers the full range of electronic music without ever sounding like anything else out there............ Younger Brother play all over the world from Tokyo to New york, Mexico to Austrailia and have some legendry performances under thier belt such as the opening of the Samothraki festival in 2003 and the closing of "camp Bisco" in upstate new york in 2005. At the moment the pair are hard at work on the second album that should be finished by the summer...at the same time the never ending tour continues...........see you at the next stop........

Younger Brother - The Last Days Of Gravity
“The Last Days Of Gravity” is a unique melee of electronic, acoustic, and vocal music, running the gamut of beautiful, strange, catchy, psychedelic, melancholic, uplifting. Despite its consistently psychedelic tone, the album has a very human element to it, and you can sense the spirit and emotion that have gone into its creation.
The harmonic variety of “Last Days” is particularly mesmerising. The bindingly riveting melodic lines provide echoes of Posford’s earlier work in Shpongle and Celtic Cross, as well as of his more recent collaboration with the legendary Alan Parsons. This album is no retro piece of work, however, with Posford and Vaughn’s legendary innovation resulting in a complex mix of styles that eludes genre-casting. Despite having no obvious dance numbers, “The Last Days Of Gravity” provides enough levity to be the perfect soundtrack to the richness of daily experience.
Top all that off with stunning artwork by the legendary Storm Thorgerson (whose work has graced albums by Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, and Led Zeppelin, among many others), and there you have it – the outside matches the inside. With “The Last Days Of Gravity”, you have yourself another trendsetting, description-defying release from Twisted Records!
Track list :
1. Happy Pills
2. All I Want
3. Elephant Machine
4. Your Friends Are Scary
5. I Am A Freak
6. Ribbon On A Branch
7. Sleepwalker Part 1

9. Psychic Gibbon
